YMCA Adventures
Adventure Awaits
From mountain biking and hiking to backpacking, climbing, paddling, and unforgettable outdoor adventures, the YMCA of Northern Utah’s Adventure Program uses recreation to help young people challenge themselves, build connections, and discover what they’re capable of. Through meaningful experiences in the outdoors, participants have opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, develop new skills, and create memories that last long after the adventure ends.
Our programs are about more than learning outdoor skills. They are about building resilience by working through challenges, developing a sense of community by supporting one another, and gaining perspective by discovering new possibilities for themselves and the world around them. Whether navigating a difficult trail, working together to reach a goal, or trying something for the first time, participants are encouraged to embrace challenges, celebrate their growth, and recognize their own potential.

Sawtooth Backpacking
6 DAYS, 5 NIGHTS AT MILL HOLLOW OR TRAVELING. 7 DAYS, 6 NIGHTS ON CENTRAL SAWTOOTH TRAIL.
YMCA Mill Hollow is heading to Idaho for a 46 mile backpacking trek into the Sawtooth Wilderness! Campers will check in Sunday and use the beginning of the week to do a swim test and an overnight backpacking trip to ensure they are ready for Idaho. Wednesday morning, after breakfast, the group will journey to the Northern side of Red Fish Lake where they will take it easy at an established campground. Thursday morning they head out to backpack into the Sawtooth wilderness where they will see stunning mountain passes and serene lakes. While this hike is the longest backpacking trip we have offered in awhile, campers will balance out the trip with 5-8 mile days, especially on days with big climbs. The crew will return to Mill Hollow on Thursday of the second week to enjoy the comforts of camp and the closing campfire before checking out the next day.
