Youth Instructional Skiing and Snowboarding

Youth Instructional Ski and Snowboard

Your child's mountain adventure starts here! The YMCA of Northern Utah Youth Instructional Ski & Snowboard Program gives youth ages 8–17 the opportunity to learn skiing or snowboarding at Solitude Mountain Resort near Salt Lake City. Perfect for first-time skiers and snowboarders or beginners building their skills, this four-week program features lessons in YMCA-exclusive groups with the same professional instructor each week.

In partnership with Solitude Mountain Resort and the Share Winter Foundation, each session includes four lessons, lift tickets, all rental equipment, lunch, and round-trip transportation from our YMCA Community Family Center in Taylorsville. Choose the YMCA $650 registration rate option to secure an available spot immediately (first come, first serve), or apply for the additional scholarship-supported rate of $150 per child (supported by Share Winter Foundation). Both options include the same complete experience, with additional winter clothing assistance available for qualifying scholarship recipients.

  • Lift tickets: Mountain access included for all four lesson days.
  • Round-trip transportation: Supervised group transportation from the YMCA Community Family Center in Taylorsville to Solitude Mountain Resort and back.
